Established
over 25 years ago Noah’s
Ark is a
traditional village preschool for 3-5 year olds. Sessions run 5 days a
week, from 9am - 1pm. We are based
in Cookham Dean Village Hall and welcome children from surrounding areas.
We are a registered charity, run by a committee of parents and are also Ofsted
registered.
Why
Come to Pre-School?
It’s
stating the obvious to say that children play because they enjoy it. Play
is exercise for the mind and body — and it’s fun to feel mind and body
working together. Solitary play has it’s place too — but part of early
social education is learning to enjoy doing things well with others.
Noah’s Ark offers your child one of the best places around for these early
lessons.
Our
Aims & Objectives
We
believe children learn through play and provide a wide range of play
opportunities in a safe, loving environment. Each child is treated as an
individual and through praise we hope to develop their creativity, imagination,
communication skills and ability to express themselves, and both their fine and
large motor skills. Our aim is to fulfil the needs of the children
emotionally, socially, intellectually and physically to help them towards
independence and prepare them for primary school.
Children’s
Activities
You
will be amazed and delighted at the artistic creations the children bring
home. Painting and crafts are on offer everyday. With music &
movement, toys, trampoline, books, play-dough, dressing up and more, it’s a
wonder the children know what to do first!
The local Fire Brigade visit allowing the children to explore the engine
and learn important safety precautions. We go strawberry picking, and all
the children take part in sports day on the Village Green.
When the weather’s good we have full use of a 2 acre orchard, just
minutes away from the hall. A favourite for ‘What’s the time Mr.
Wolf’ and Teddy Bear’s Picnic. From the age of 4, the children who join the workgroup enjoy
learning in a more focused environment for one hour per day. Subjects include
numbers, letters, French and cooking.
